Emily Matthews

    Emily Matthews was trained as a classical singer from childhood and began her acting career in 2010 when she joined the original cast of the new musical This Changes Everything followed by the role of young Jane Eyre in her high school production of Jane Eyre the Musical. She studied vocal performance at the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, South Carolina and graduated from Furman University in May of 2019 with a BA in Theatre Arts. She performed in many productions while at Furman including: The Shadowbox (Agnes), The Servant of Two Masters (Beatrice), The Diviners (Jeanie Mae), Suessical (Gertrude) and Into the Woods (Little Red). Her desire for greater education led to her 2018 enrollment in the Summer Physical Theatre Intensive at the Accademia dell' Arte in Arezzo, Italy. In May of 2022 she received an MA in Educational Theatre for Colleges and Communities from NYU Steinhardt. She is currently a teaching artist in NYC and her most recent role was Ronee u/s in the Off-Broadway production Here There Be Dragons at The Players Theatre.
